I see that the ticket sales are closed. I didn’t know if I could come until today (I originally had a motorcycle test scheduled that afternoon). Is there any hope in showing up and trying to get a seat from a no-show? Or do you have any walk-in space?

Am in my final year of my B.A. a double major of Economics and Intl Development with a minor in Public Relations. I am currently taking a semester abroad – in Israel of all places – and interning at Ruder Finn Israel. I would love the opportunity to attend the Girl Geek Dinners, as well as a reason to return to my native soil and hear the first lady of social media Tara Hunt speak.
So please can I have one of the free tickets!!!!

I’m currently wrapping up my degree in English Literature, and I would love to have the chance to see Tara Hunt! My field of study may not be particularly tech-oriented, but I completed 4 co-op terms in new media- related positions, and it is one of my passions. If there are any more student spots open, I would be honoured to attend!

@Halyma – sorry we won’t be seeing you on Tuesday. The plan is certainly to hold events on different nights, so hopefully you can make the next one.

I’m a PhD student in Computer Science at Carleton U. I’m also part of the CU-WISE (www.carleton.ca/wise) and WISE Ottawa Executive committees (www.wise-ottawa.ca) (Carleton U and Ottawa Women in Science and Engineering). My main task in both are virtual communications and to build a strong virtual community, so I’d love to hear and learn from Tara. My research is on Semantic Web, aka Web 3.0 and getting interested about the social element on it. And on top of it… meeting more geeky girls like me… I’m in!
